Julie Powell was about to turn 30 when she realized her life was in the dumps. In search of direction, or at least distraction, Julie set her sights on a new desire, cooking all 524 recipes from the Mastering the Art of French Cooking Cookbook in the span of one year while spending each available night "blogging" about the experience to her new widely growing circle of cyber-friends.
